Park City, Utah is a gorgeous place filled with snow capped mountains, deep green pine trees, golden log cabins, and that fresh, chilled air that makes your vision sharper, like you’re somehow more awake. If you are looking for a place to get away for a bit, we suggest considering Park City. Here are the top 4 trails you should drive while you’re there.

Big Flat
As the closest trail to Park City (of the trails on this list), this is a great one to start with. Big Flat is short and intensely fun. It’s not particularly difficult, however erosion has carved deep gouges in the path. Drivers have to pay active attention to their tire placement as they go to avoid sliding into those ruts. Big Flat is like a skills test for your tire placement ability.

Mineral Basin
This route connects to Lower Mill Canyon and Baker Fork Road, both easier trails that would make a good warm up for Mineral Basin. Mineral Basin is decently difficult with many engaging obstacles. The trail is rocky with some mild off-camber sections and there are spots covered in water, making the trail slippery. A bit of lift and 4WD are required for this trail to avoid damage.

Miller Hill
High clearance is a must to traverse the large rocks that cover this trail. Most of it is packed dirt, but the rocky parts are no joke. The road is fairly narrow, only fitting one vehicle in most sections. However, there are wider spots that can be used for passing. Miller Hill is a fun drive of moderate difficulty.

Forest Lake
This trail is made of rock gardens, mud, and aspen trees. Forest Lake tends to be less busy than the other trails that surround it, but that doesn’t say anything about its quality. It’s a thrilling adventure that is wonderfully technical and astonishingly beautiful.

The natural beauty of the Park City area is a true wonder. It’s something everyone should experience.
