North Carolina is a beautiful place to go adventuring. It’s especially beautiful near Pisgah Forest. The trails in the Pisgah area are easy and well maintained. It’s a good spot for new off-roaders to get their wheels dirty and gain some confidence in their vehicle. Here are the trails we recommend you check out.

Headwater
This trail is easy and doesn’t present any significant challenges, but the road stays busy because of its lovely scenery and the several hiking trails and campsites that branch off from it. Headwater is the ideal way to start a day of exploring or to take some younger off-roaders on a safe adventure. This trail is suitable for any vehicle, there is no need to worry about installing a special rig.

Green River Road
This road winds alongside the Green River (as I’m sure you could have guessed). It’s great for sightseers and a laid back nature drive. This road connects to Pinnacle Mountain Road, which has a few more challenge areas. It’s a good warm up for a peaceful day of enjoying the forest views.

Pinnacle Mountain Road
Pinnacle is a gravel road that is accessible to all motorized vehicles and wide enough for 2 vehicles in most places. There are some optional routes that branch off from the maintained road that will offer a bit more challenge. 4WD and high clearance are needed for those areas.

If you’re near Pisgah, get work off and escape to the forest!
