Red River is a town in northern New Mexico, near the border of Colorado. It is home to many beautiful hiking trails and plenty of epic off-road trails. And if you go during the winter, there’s heaps of snow to wheel through.

Goose Lake
Red River, NM
Goose Lake is the most popular of the Red River off-roading trails. It offers moderate difficulty and extreme amounts of fun. The trail starts off strong with a deep river crossing and then begins your climb up the mountain (keep an eye out for caves along the way.) The trail ends at the crystal clear Goose Lake.

Pioneer Creek
Red River, NM
Just like Goose Lake, this trail has a ton of water crossings. It runs alongside the creek for more than a quarter of its length, taking the splashing to the next level. This one’s for the inner kid that can’t get enough of the water. It’s fairly short, but worth it.

Greenie Peak
Red River, NM
Greenie Peak is the highest peak in New Mexico that is accessible to motorized vehicles. Sounds pretty impressive. Once you make it to the peak, you get gorgeous open views of the Wheeler Peak Wilderness below. The views are better from above.

Thrills await you in Northern New Mexico!
